Offering a free product as a reward to your customers is a great way to both give back to your most loyal program members, promote new or featured products and control your inventory.
Overview
How to set up a free product reward
To add a free product reward, follow the steps below :
Navigate to Program > Points > Add Ways to Redeem
Select Free product.
Enter the title for the Free Product Reward
Select the product by typing the exact name of the product (case-sensitive) in the field or click Browse OR Choose the free product from the dropdown list.
Enter the display title.
Enter the details page link (optional). This will redirect the user to the specified link.
Enter the description for the product.
Decide how many points the customer needs to spend in order to redeem the reward and enter it into the Points cost field.
Select the Filter by Customer Tags so only the user associated with a specific tag can view the free product reward. (Select the customer tags who should see this action/reward. If you want all customers to see it, please leave it blank.)
Decide if you want to add additional images, otherwise, the image from the product will be displayed
Once the reward is created, customers will be able to redeem points for the reward.
How customers can redeem a free product reward
A customer will select a reward from the list of available rewards and click on Add to cart.
Points Deduction on Adding to Cart: When the customer clicks on the Add to Cart button for a free product from the redemption widget, the specified points will be immediately deducted from their balance, even if the purchase is not completed.
If the customer removes the free product from the cart without completing the purchase, the deducted points will automatically be reverted to their balance within 24-48 hours.
A paid product must be added to the cart before redeeming a free product unless the Requires Paid Product option is unchecked.
Once the paid product is in the cart, go to the Redeem section.
Click Add to Cart next to the Free Product Reward.
The free product will be added to the cart, and a coupon will automatically be applied to make its price zero.
If the Requires Paid Product option is unchecked in the Free Product Restrictions section while creating the Free Product Reward, customers can directly click the Add to Cart button for the free product, and it will be added to the cart without requiring a paid product.
If the Per Cart Limit option is checked, only one free product can be added to the cart per transaction. If the Per Cart Limit option is unchecked, customers can add multiple free products to the cart in a single transaction.
