Birthday rewards automatically send rewards to customers on or before their birthday

How It Works

When a customer has a birthday saved in their profile, a reward is automatically sent on their birthday or a specified number of days before it, based on the configured timing.


Eligibility conditions such as tier restrictions are checked before the reward is issued. Customers who do not meet the criteria will not receive the reward.

⚠️ Important: An active Birthday Action or Profile Sequence is required for this feature to work.

How To Set It Up

  1. Go to Add Ways to Redeem → Birthday Reward

  2. Select the trigger timing:

    • On their birthday (default)

    • Custom Timing — specify the number of days before the birthday.

  3. Select who is eligible to receive the reward:

    • All Members

    • Segmented by Tiers

  4. Select the reward type:

    • Points

    • Percent Discount

    • Amount Discount

  5. Configure advanced settings if required:

    • Purchase Type — Any, One-Time Purchase, or Subscription.

    • Minimum Purchase Amount.

  6. Configure discount combination settings:

    • Product discounts

    • Order discounts

    • Shipping discounts

  7. Click Save.

  8. Configure the discount expiration if the reward type is a percentage or an amount discount:

    • Set the number of days the discount will remain active after it is issued.

    • This overrides any global discount expiry configured in Settings.

  9. Click Update to save.

Example Walkthrough

  • A customer saves their birthday as June 30.

  • The birthday is saved more than 30 days in advance.

  • The reward is configured to trigger 2 days before the birthday.

  • The reward type is a percentage discount.

  • The reward triggers on June 28 and is sent to the customer via email.

  • The customer applies the discount at checkout based on the configured combination settings.

Key Notes

  • Rewards are not issued immediately after a birthday is added.

  • If a birthday is added less than 30 days before the date, the reward will not be issued until the following year.

  • A Birthday Action or Profile Sequence must be active for rewards to trigger.

  • Discount combination settings control how the reward can be applied at checkout.
