Segmentation

Automatically personalize your loyalty program for every customer.

Overview

Every customer is different: a first-time shopper, a VIP, a subscriber, a lapsed customer, a local customer near a new store, and someone who only buys one product category should get a bespoke loyalty experience, tailored to their needs and wants.

With rediem, you can use Shopify customer segments to decide which Ways to Earn, Actions, and Rewards each customer sees inside your loyalty widgets.

  • How it works

    1. In Shopify, create the customer segment you want to target.

    2. In Rediem, choose whether that segment should be included or excluded from a specific Way to Earn, Action, or Reward.

  • For example:

    • Include customers tagged VIP to show a premium reward only to VIPs.

    • Exclude customers who have already purchased to show a first-purchase bonus only to new customers.

    • Include customers in a specific city or region to promote a local event.

    • Include customers who bought a specific product to show a relevant follow-up action, like "share your routine" or "show us your new kicks!"

Both Ways to Earn/ Actions and Rewards can be filtered by the tags set up in Shopify:

Additional Possibilities with rediem segmentation

  1. VIP status

    • Make premium rewards visible only to your highest-value customers.

    • Give top-tier members early access to limited-time earning opportunities.

    • Hide entry-level offers from customers who already qualify for better perks.

  2. Location

    • Promote a new store opening to customers in a specific city, state, or region.

    • Offer local pickup rewards to customers near a retail location.

    • Run market-specific campaigns without changing the experience for everyone else.

  3. Subscription status

    • Show exclusive actions and rewards to active subscribers.

    • Incentivize non-subscribers to start a subscription.

    • Create winback offers for canceled subscribers.

  4. Product or category interest

    • Show beauty-related perks to skincare buyers, apparel rewards to clothing buyers, or supplement offers to wellness customers - but don't be afraid to cross-promote!

  5. RFM segmentation

    • Create winback offers for lapsed customers.

    • Give lower-engagement customers simpler, easier ways to re-engage with discounts that only appear if they have not clicked/purchased in the last 90 days
