What Does Attentive Do?
Attentive is a messaging platform that enables brands to engage customers through SMS, email, and RCS. It supports personalized campaigns, automated journeys, and real-time notifications.
With the rediem integration, customer messaging can align with loyalty engagement strategies.
Integration Types
Attentive supports two messaging flows: Transactional and Marketing.
Transactional Messaging
Transactional messaging is action-based and informational.
Key characteristics:
Sent in response to a customer action.
One-to-one and real-time.
No promotional content.
Requires explicit transactional opt-in.
Common use cases:
Points earned after a purchase.
Reward redemption confirmations.
Tier status changes.
Marketing Messaging
Marketing messaging is engagement-driven and promotional.
Key characteristics:
Brand-initiated campaigns.
May include discounts or promotional content.
Requires explicit marketing opt-in.
Common use cases:
Promote limited-time point multipliers.
Announce new rewards or redemption options.
Encourage customers to redeem available points.
How to Connect rediem with Attentive β Transactional
In the rediem dashboard, go to Integrations.
Click Add New Integration.
Select Attentive and click Connect Attentive.
Log in to Attentive and authorize the integration.
You will be redirected to rediem with the API key auto-filled.
Set the Sign-up Method to Transactional.
In Attentive, go to Sign-up Units and copy the ID for Transactional.
Paste the ID into the Signup Unit ID field.
Click Integrate.
Attentive will appear in the Integrations page once connected.
How to Connect rediem with Attentive β Marketing
In the rediem dashboard, go to Integrations.
Click Add New Integration.
Select Attentive and click Connect Attentive.
Log in to Attentive and authorize the integration.
You will be redirected to rediem with the API key auto-filled and Sign-up Method set to Marketing.
In Attentive, go to Sign-up Units and copy the ID for Marketing.
Paste the ID into the Signup Unit ID field.
Click Integrate.
Attentive will appear as active in the Integrations page once setup is complete.
Key Notes
Transactional and marketing flows must be configured separately.
Each flow requires its own Signup Unit ID.
Ensure the correct opt-in type is used to avoid compliance issues.
The API key is automatically populated after authorization.
