Skio and rediem

This guide explains how Skio integrates with rediem for subscription and recurring payments management.

Overview


What Does Skio Do?

Skio is a subscription management platform designed for eCommerce brands, enabling merchants to offer and manage recurring orders, memberships, and subscription-based products with ease. It provides tools for customer retention, flexible billing, and seamless subscription experiences.

When integrated with rediem, Skio allows subscription events and customer data to sync into rediem. This connection helps merchants reward loyal subscribers, trigger engagement campaigns, and personalize experiences based on subscription activity.

The integration enhances customer retention by combining subscription insights with loyalty and rewards. Merchants can incentivize repeat purchases, increase lifetime value, and create a more engaging post-purchase journey.

Requirements

Before getting started, ensure you have:

  • An active Skio account with subscription features enabled.

  • Access to rediem with integration permissions.

  • API keys from Skio with the required permissions.

  • Proper configuration of subscription products in Skio.

How To Integrate Rediem With Skio

  1. Log in to your Skio account and navigate to Settings → API.

  2. Generate or copy your API key with the required permissions.

  3. Log in to your rediem dashboard.

  4. Navigate to Integrations → Select Skio.

  5. Paste your Skio API key into the required field.

  6. Click integrate

  7. Skio will be successfully integrated and an entry will be displayed

  8. Go to store’s Theme Settings → Customize → Pages

  9. Select products page

  10. Select the skio subscriptions and the subscription widget will be applied to the configured subscription prod

  11. Click save

  12. Verify the subscription is added to your products in the online store

Setting up Subscription Rewards

After Skio is integrated with rediem, you can create rewards specifically for subscription purchases.

To add a subscription reward:

  1. Go to Program → Points in rediem

  2. Click Add Ways to Earn

  3. Select Subscription Reward

  4. Configure the reward details such as:

    • Reward name and description

    • Select subscription products

    • Specify order cycle with the reward type

Pro Tip: Give your subscription reward a unique name and icon so customers can easily identify it as a subscription-only benefit.

Note: Subscription purchases made through Skio will still earn points based on your store’s “points per dollar” earning rules in rediem.

How customers use their Skio subscription rewards

To redeem a Skio subscription reward, customers must be logged into their store account.

  1. Customers navigate to the loyalty dashboard

  2. Click Ways to Earn

  3. Select a Subscription Reward

Using the reward, Customers can redeem Skio subscription rewards in the following ways:

  • New subscription purchases

    • Apply the generated coupon code directly during Shopify checkout for a Skio subscription

  • Existing subscriptions

    • The reward will be automatically applied to an active subscription through the Skio-managed subscription flow (where supported)

    • Once redeemed, the reward is marked as used in rediem and applied to the eligible subscription.

How it Works

  • Subscription creation, renewal, or cancellation in Skio triggers events in rediem.

  • Customer and subscription data sync between Skio and rediem.

  • Customers receive subscription rewards or engagement messages based on their subscription activity.

  • Merchants can view and manage subscription-driven engagement within rediem.
